A Friendly Reminder About Respecting Our Practice

26 October 2026

At Central Surgery, Rugby, we are disappointed to have to address some recent incidents of damage and inappropriate behaviour in our waiting room.

We have found damage to our waiting room chairs, chewing gum stuck underneath seating, and writing on the walls. This behaviour is unhygienic, unacceptable and disrespectful to the practice, our staff and the many patients who use our facilities every day.

Our waiting room is a shared space, and we have a responsibility to keep it clean, safe and welcoming for everyone. Our staff work hard to maintain a suitable environment for all our patients, and damage or deliberate mess creates additional work, costs money to repair and detracts from the experience of others.

We ask all patients to please treat our premises with the same care and respect you would expect in your own home. Please dispose of chewing gum and other rubbish appropriately, refrain from writing on walls or damaging furniture, and help us keep our waiting room clean and presentable.

Please be aware that anyone identified deliberately damaging or vandalising practice property may face further action. In serious or repeated cases, this could include being asked to register with another GP practice, in line with the relevant NHS procedures and guidance.

We appreciate that the actions of a minority do not reflect the behaviour of the majority of our patients, and we are grateful to everyone who treats our practice, staff and fellow patients with consideration.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all.
