Maximising uptake of vaccinations in pregnancy during winter

For some people, such as those who are pregnant, flu and COVID-19 can be dangerous and even life-threatening. Whooping cough (pertussis) can also be very serious for young babies who are too young to start their routine childhood vaccinations.

All pregnant women are encouraged at every opportunity to take up the offer of vaccination against flu, COVID-19 and pertussis ahead of the winter months. The pertussis vaccination is advised for each pregnancy and the flu vaccination is offered annually. To book your flu and pertussis vaccination please contact the practice.

Pregnant women across England can book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment using The National Booking System, on the basis of self-declaration. There will be no requirement to prove pregnancy status.
