Our daily appointments are usually booked up quickly, so please think carefully about whether you need to see the doctor urgently, or whether your health concern can wait a few days to be discussed with your doctor, or is a routine check up or request.

Booking an appointment in advance

If you wish to speak to a doctor or nurse about a health concern, please try to plan ahead and book online - appointments are now available up to 7 weeks in advance. The advantage of booking ahead is that you can do it anytime online, and you are more likely to be able to get an appointment with your usual doctor.

You will get to speak to a GP over the phone initially and they will agree with you on the best method of treatment.

Whilst you're here, why don't you update your contact details?

Booking a same-day appointment

If you need to be seen the same day, telephone the surgery on 01788 524366 and press 1 from the menu where your call will be answered in turn.

Reception team

We operate a ‘telephone triage’ system at Central Surgery in Rugby: if you feel that your condition requires same-day attention, your contact details will be taken and a clinician will normally ring you back that morning or afternoon to arrange for urgent advice or an appointment.

  • Please ensure that you provide up-to-date contact numbers and that you are available to answer the call back to avoid disappointment.
  • We will normally not try to contact you more than two times.
  • If using a mobile number please ensure that you have adequate reception to receive a call.
  • Please do not use phones with “Call Blockers” for anonymous numbers
  • Please try to avoid ringing at busy times such as 08:00-09:30 for non-urgent enquiries.

Please note that sicknote requests are not considered urgent cases. Please book online for a sicknote request.
